St. John has two excellent school systems. Most students aged Kindergarten to Grade Four attend Bibich Elementary School or Kolling Elementary School while those living south of 101st Street attend Lincoln Elementary School. Students in Heron Lake and Heron Park attend the Watson School in Schererville.
School boundaries are updated as our population grows, so it’s best to check the Lake Central School Administration’s website for the most current information.
Students in grades five through eight attend either Grimmer Middle School, Kahler Middle School, Clark Middle School or Hanover Central Middle School.
Most students attending High School would attend Lake Central High School located in St. John, with the exception of those living south of 101st Street who attend Hanover Central High School. Illiana Christian High School, located in Dyer, currently accepts high school students through an application process.
St. John the Evangelist Catholic School and Crown Point Christian School accepts students from Pre-School through eighth grade.
