Breakfast with the Easter Bunny gives children and parents an opportunity to visit with the Easter Bunny, have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a full breakfast. Each child is also given an Easter goodie bag with donated toys, candy and various other items donated by local businesses. The event is a ticketed event with tickets sold at selected businesses in St John & Dyer.

Since 2003, this has been an annual, one evening, event that is a combined effort between the St John-Dyer Chamber and the Schererville Rotary Club. It is held at the Community Outpatient Center (outdoors). It is planned by a small joint committee over several months prior to the event and requires many volunteers, as well as community business involvement. The corn is provided by local farmers & cooked on site the day of the event, the many miscellaneous food and paper items are supplied by Strack & Van Til. Hotdogs and the Polish Sausage is provided and grilled by Welch’s Stop & Shop. Eenigenberg supplies bottled water. Proceeds are split between both organizations. The Chamber proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. It has been very well received by the community, offering food, socializing, live entertainment, children’s activities, as well as booths operated by local businesses and organizations.

TBD-August 2021 @ White Hawk Country Club

The annual golf outing will be held in August at a local golf course in the area. Participants receive a cart, 18-holes of championship golf and a catered lunch and dinner. There are also opportunities to win raffle prizes, skill competitions and more. Golf usually begins at 12:00 (noon) and is followed by dinner. The Chamber is always looking for businesses not only to participate in a fun day of golf, but also for door prize donations, hole sponsors and more. For those who don’t wish to play golf, simply sign up for dinner and network with other local businesses. The golf outing is a great event, don’t miss out!
